The Whole 30 – Melissa Hartwig and Dallas Hartwig

Since the start of the new year Tim and I have been trying to sprinkle two to three clean Whole 30 meals into our diet each week in an attempt to both eat and live healthier and lose some unwanted weight.
For those of you that don’t know this – there are so many Whole 30 based cookbooks out there (Friends and Family, Fast and Easy, Slow Cooker etc.…) and I have been cherry picking which recipes look the best to me and cooking from them all to help all of us put some healthy meals into our weekly or monthly rotation. I will be sharing with you some of my favorites that I will be making regularly from now on.

One of my favorites is Pork Chops with Spiced Applesauce. This is great for a weeknight because it comes together in about 30 minutes. We have been eating this pork and apple combo for years – because they pair so well together, but this spicy applesauce is an alternate version adding in some savory ingredients to balance the sweetness. I love to serve this with steamed green beans and for kids you can always just give them an option such as Gogo Squeeze or Motts. The recipe calls for a frisee which is totally optional and is a fancy name for a lettuce that you put under the pork and applesauce to make it look nice and add some greens into the meal.
I hope this post and recipe inspires you to try this Whole 30 recipe or others. I will keep these healthy options coming. Until then- take care.
