Caramel Rolls (aka Sticky Buns)

It is impossible to remember the exact number of people who have fallen in love with these caramel rolls (aka sticky buns). My mom found this gem of a sweet treat and after trying them once I took this recipe and ran with it. This is one of the most requested recipes from family and friends for sure! I make them when my kids come home to visit, every holiday and sometimes just because. Last year we were in Florida over Christmas, and I even made them at our Airbnb.

My favorite story of these incredible rolls revolves around a neighborhood 4th of July party. When the kids were little our neighbors hosted a brunch/bike decorating party on the 4th. We bought all sorts of fun decorations for the kids to use to embellish their bikes and then ride them in the parade which started across the street from our house. The first year the party was held I decided to bring the caramel rolls, and they were gone in 10 minutes. The next year I brought twice as many and still gone in 10 minutes. As the years went on it was the same. Weeks before the party I would run into friends who would ask me if I was bringing the sticky buns to the party again this year. Of course, my answer was always yes. Each year, as I walked from my house and up the driveway to our neighbors who always graciously hosted this event, people would follow me to the backyard waiting for me to uncover these delicious treats so they wouldn’t miss the opportunity to grab one.
